It gives me much pleasure, coupled with a sense of pride to welcome all stakeholders at Itireleng Primary school. I must confess at the onset that I feel blessed to be given this rare opportunity to lead an institution of Itireleng's magnitude. An institution which has a rich history of having been led by academic giants who came before me.
The reason that makes one to be proud of this institution, is because of the positive culture that is always prevalent in this institution. The environment is such that peace and tranquillity reign supreme which make it a fertile ground for the cultivation of best education for learners, an aspect which every South African envisage.
I am also proud about the institution in that one can without a shadow of doubt conclude that all staff members in this institution, irrespective of the positions they hold, are fit for purpose. All staff members are aware of the fact that "small things attended with care, produce big results". Most of them, don't wait for things to happen or watch things happening, they instead make things happen. These factors, contribute towards making the institution alive and professional.
It also pleases me to be part of the school governing body that is so supportive, level-headed and ever prepared to avail the necessary resources to ensure that learning and teaching in the institution is of quality and is not hindered by lack of such critical resources. Everyone is prepared to put shoulder to the wheel to ensure that the aims and objectives of the institution are not in any way compromised.
I am also proud of the learners' parents who are ever ready to send their beloved kids to our institution in large numbers, thus proving that they have confidence in our incredibly talented, hardworking and fantastic staff members. One must also utter a word of appreciation to the crop of learners that we have. They are seemingly aware of the fact that "A young person who refuses to be educated is committing intellectual suicide". This fact is demonstrated by their attitude towards school work, which is something to home about. I would like to encourage them to know that "Big shots are only little shots who keep shooting." Finally, it doesn 't mean that there are no challenges in our institution, however I am happy that whenever they do arise, they are dealt with in such a way that our staff demonstrate an understanding of the fact that "Not all storms come to disrupt our lives some come to clear our paths".
Having said all these, one must conclude by explaining that we are on a journey, and the aim of our journey is to leave a legacy to be proud of. I therefore implore all stakeholders to join us in our journey. To everyone concerned about our institution, I say "If there is a song in your heart, sing it. If there is love in your soul, show it. If there dreams in your mind chase them.Your life is meant for living ,don't ever be afraid to share the real you."
I thank you.
